Lafettes, T-shirts and big ideas

Lafettes, T-shirts and big ideas

News of the week: 11–14 May 2026

A party, new features on the site and plans for the future! 🌟

The party is coming up, yippee!!!

We’re so happy to share that we’ve raised the first €230 for the ‘Lafetki’ campaign on our website (if you haven’t realised we’ve got one, do have a look). We’ve even sold the first 6 tickets for our party on 30 May! An important reminder: Everyone who has supported our campaign gets free entry and a “Lafetki” goodie bag at the event. Thanks to the help of friends, we’ve also sorted out the catering, so the party is going to be spectacular and delicious. :)

T-shirts with your own design

Some of you have asked us how to order printed T-shirts. And over the past week, we’ve gone ahead and built this feature into the website. Very soon, you’ll be able to choose the style and colour yourself, upload your own design, and position it exactly where you want it. This digital solution will make Iris Centre’s work much easier, as they will automatically receive the exact print dimensions. We are currently testing some designs for children and adults to decide which ones to put on the website. We hope everything will be ready next week.

A major goal

We had a meeting with the Iris Centre this week and discussed our long-term idea for the Different Minds Foundation to become a private employment agency that helps businesses hire vulnerable young people. For young people with conditions such as autism, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy and others, this will require serious and specific preparation. We need to consider a number of things, develop a methodology for assessing skills (i.e., who could do what kind of work), set up a training system, and also figure out how to ensure we have a pool of young people across the country who are prepared for specific roles. We will also explore the possibilities for funding our idea through a programme.

That’s our update for this week :) Thank you for your support!

P.S. The photo is from our trip to the Iris Centre in Varna last November
